Josh Morton

Josh is a proud 1996 graduate of Del Campo High School in Fair Oaks. His most memorable event was
helping to lead the Cougars to a 1995 Sac-Joaquin Section Division 1 Championship. Josh was a three-
year letterman in baseball and football, earning All-League and All-Metro honors, and was elected to the

Optimist Game in both sports. Josh was the M.V.P. of the Capital Athletic League in 1996 before heading off to San Luis Obispo. While earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology from Cal Poly from 1997-2001, Josh was a standout left-handed pitcher for the Mustangs, setting the school career record for appearances at 87.
With that mark he is also in the Top 10 for career appearances in Big West Conference history.

After graduating, Josh played in the Canadian Professional Baseball League, where he was the closer for the Kelowna Heat in British Columbia. Josh is in his 16th season as the pitching coach at Sierra College under current Head Coach Ryan Evangelho. Besides working with the pitchers, his duties include recruiting and working camps and
clinics.

He is currently the Player Development Coordinator in addition to coaching many different teams for THE ROCK Baseball Club in Rocklin.

Nick Hoffman

Nick was born and raised in the Bay Area before graduating in 2010 from Oakmont High School.  He earned 1st Team Sierra Foothill League accolades as a catcher and first baseman. After graduating, Nicik attended Sierra College and helped guide the Wolverines to a Final Four Appearance in 2011.

He then continued his playing career at St. Gregory's University in Oklahoma earning All-Conference honors while earning his degree in Communications.  "Coach Hoff" has shifted his focus on helping players implement physical and mental skills into their game. 

Beginning in the fFall of 2021 Nick has coached the 13U age group for The Rock Baseball Club and also keeps his competitive edge bodybuilding with a focus on learning how to utilize the body and mind for optimal performance.

Jon Moscot

Jon grew up in Pacific Palisades, CA attending Palisades Charter High School and was voted the LA City Section Western League MVP in both his Junior and Senior High School Seasons. He was voted Male Outstanding Athlete of the Year in 2009 by the Palisades-Post.

Jon went on to pitch at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA in 2011 and 2012 helping lead the Waves to a WCC Conference Championship after throwing 120 innings with a 2.9 era. In 2012 Jon was drafted in the 4th round by the Cincinnati Reds and led the Cincinnati organization in strikeouts in 2014. Jon went on to make his Major League Debut in June of 2015. Jon also has pitched for Team Israel in International competition most recently being the opening starter in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Upon retiring from his playing days Jon was the AAA pitching coach for the Louisville Bats in 2019. With a deep skill set, knowledge and passion for the game, Jon has helped over 30 athletes in the Sacramento are over the last 4 years reach their goals of Division 1 athletics scholarships. He brings a fresh perspective and exciting new age mindset to teaching baseball and is looking forward to sharing it."

Bret Sundberg

Born in 1994, and Raised Sacramento California,  Bret attended Del Campo High School graduating in 2012.  A three year varsity starter, Bret had a stellar high schol career then went on to Sierra College where he earned All-Big 8 Conference honors in 2014.

After his playing days Bret followed his passion for baseball and coaching when he became an Assistant Coach at Sierra College in 2021 where his responsibilities include hitting and 3rd base coach. Additonally, Coach Bret has spent the past 3+ years coaching youth baseball and has been an integral part of The Rock Baseball Club coaching staff.  He will be coaching this Summer for the Bismarck Larks of the Northwoods League.

Brian Billings

Brian Billings has recently joined the Rocklin Community as a new coach, relocating to the area in November 2024. He is now a member of Matt Jones' varsity coaching staff at Rocklin High School, where he will focus on developing catchers and hitters. Known as "Bills," he brings with him an extensive coaching background, having served as a college head coach for the past 24 years.

Most notably, he held the position of Head Coach at Pacific University in Oregon, where he successfully guided the Boxers to three consecutive Northwest Conference Championships and NCAA Tournament appearances in 2021, 2022, and 2023. In 2021, he was honored as both the Northwest Conference Coach of the Year and NCAA D3baseball.com West Region Coach of the Year.

While Bills specializes in hitting instruction, his expertise extends to all facets of the game, including pitching, defense, and baserunning. He has a proven track record of player development and is eager to share his insights with the community.

Jake Swiech

Born and raised in Southern CA, Jake was a 3-year varsity player at Paraclete High School, as well as an all-league and all-state player as a pitcher and hitter. Jake received multiple D1 scholarship offers, ultimately committing and playing for San Jose State from 2013-2018.

At SJSU, Jake was a 2-year weekend starter on the mound, an NCAA/conference stat leader, and was considered a top prospect by the California Collegiate Summer League. After college, Jake began his coaching career at the high school varsity level at his alma mater.

Jake also coached for a nationally ranked high school level travel ball organization in both Southern and Northern CA. Jake is currently the varsity pitching coach at Del Oro High School and also coaches for The Rock 13s,14s, and high school level teams. Jake excels in teaching pitching and hitting.
